kindergarten-1 & kindergarten-2

The Kindergarten at BYPS is a place for learners to have fun, grow, learn, and develop. We strive to ensure that each child is cared and loved and gradually progresses according to his/her abilities. We provide programs that cater to their individual needs. Emphasis is placed on developing language skills and interpersonal relationships through refining sensory skills and fine motor control, as well as the core subjects of English, Math and Arabic.

In KG2 the focus is shifted more towards the core subjects such as Literacy and Communication and Language for English and Arabic, Math, and Understanding of the World, whilst the Montessori ethos still flows through the classrooms. The children have specialist P.E, Music and I.C.T classes every week, in addition to daily Arabic and Islamic studies. Our classes are equipped with furniture, appliances, and educational games which aid in the holistic development and honing of the children’s characteristics through:

FREE PLAY
Our main goal is to make sure that the children are happy and responsible individuals. They experience authentic experiences with leadership, collaboration and deep problem solving through play. Children also experience empathy, collaboration, and kindness. Leadership skills emerge and empathy grows.

LEARNING AREAS
The curriculum at BYPS works to accommodate and value the diverse social and cultural backgrounds and experiences that children bring to school. These learning areas encompass:

  •   Aesthetics and Creative Expression, which allows children to engage in creative play and self-expression through art, music and movement
  •   Discovery of the World, through which children observe, ask questions and make sense of the world around them
  •   Language and Literacy activities that develop abilities to listen with understanding and to communicate with others.
  •   Motor Skills Development fosters the development of gross and fine motor skills that improve sense of balance, physical co-ordination and spatial awareness.
  •   Numeracy, allows children to understand and apply mathematical concepts, skills and processes;
  •   Social and Emotional Development, which is understood as the basis for children to manage their feelings, thoughts, and behaviors

REGGIO EMILIA APPROACH
We embrace to follow the Reggio Emilia approach in our learning corners which helps children to become long learners.

PSHE- (Personal, Social, Health & Emotional Wellbeing Program)

Education is not only about academic, but it is a HOLISTIC development of a young learner into an emotionally balanced, physically healthy, confident & globally aware citizen.
The students are provided hands-on learning opportunities, enabling them to experience and understand the world in which they live and the interdependence of individuals, groups and communities, including awareness of economic and environmental issues.
The PSHE curriculum provides
  • Value and character building activities
  • Holistic development of the child
  • Training the children to have a GROWTH MINDSET
  • Introduction to BRAIN GYM
  • Developing EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE in the child

HOME ECONOMICS
We believe in training our students to handle and deal with everyday things like: Living in a community: Ensuring that our young learners become global citizens and inculcate the attributes and the essence of tolerance and adaptability. Home economics at BYPS train these young minds to happily coexist with all their differences. They learn how to share responsibilities and help one another. Lessons on safety: Not all parents teach their kids how to react and deal situations with calm and alertness. Our students will be especially trained to deal emergency situations like

  • Fire at home
  • Flight safety
  • Table etiquette
  • Basic cooking
  • Laundry
  • Cleaning
  • Ironing,
  • approach to sharp or hot objects around them.

Useful life skills: Home economics is one of the most useful lessons taught in schools. While other subjects focus on theory and things that most of us will never use, home economics give useful tips on how to deal with everyday things. Not many people need to use Pythagorean Theorem, but everyone needs to know how to cook, clean and pay bills

STEAM BASED CURRICULA
At BYPS, STEAM education is at the heart of everything we do. Our curriculum is designed to inspire curiosity and ignite a passion for learning in our students, while also equipping them with the skills they need to thrive in a rapidly changing world.

PROJECT-BASED LEARNING

Through project-based learning experiences, hands-on experiments, and real-world applications, students at BYPS have the opportunity to explore scientific phenomena, conduct experiments, solve problems and create innovative solutions. Students design and build prototypes using engineering principles, they express themselves creatively through various forms of art and music.
